TECHNOLOGY
Wireless network in main buildings: Yes
School's investment in technology over the past three years: $1,800,000
Technology changes made over the past three years:
The school's commitment to technology is evident in the recent creation of a chief information officer position, which reports directly to the dean. The new CIO, Susan Kellogg, pulls together all areas of technology within the school to provide a singular focus: providing the strongest technological experience possible for students, faculty, staff and recruiters. All classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art instructional technology including data ports to all classroom seats. All servers and PCs, including PC teaching facilities, are on a three-year replacement cycle. The wireless network was further expanded this year by 40% to provide more robust coverage in all common areas. On-site computer support provides students, faculty and staff with a high service level. Lifetime email is standard for alumni. Videoconferencing systems enhance the school's recruiting capabilities, particularly for students seeking international employment. The addition of remote IP collaboration technology has further enabled the school's international EMBA program, OneMBA, to provide distance educational segments. Student service enhancements include an online bidding capability for elective courses, flexible wait listing, online company presentation signups, job postings from not only Kenan-Flagler Career Services but also Kenan-Flagler alumni, and a new student watch list for a personalized job search. A newly enhanced external website makes finding information on Kenan-Flagler faculty and programs easier.
