CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The McCombs School of Business far exceeded my lofty expectations. I truly believe McCombs is one of the top MBA programs in the world and will continue to gain recognition and attract top talented students and faculty. Austin is an incredible city with lots to offer MBA students and graduates. -- Information Technology

The experience to come from the northeast to Texas was a big one. However, I was really able to get access to a wealth of opportunities in Texas. The caliber of the students is excellent and I was not only able to make great friendships but also a great base for networking. I now have a contact base in the northeast from my previous education at Boston College as well as from Texas. I would highly recommend the entire experience to anyone who is interested. -- Marketing

The program is not only outstanding, but also the city and community are amazing. The school has outstanding facilities as well as faculty. The job market was tough, but it was tough for all of us in the MBA programs nationwide. UT has exceeded all expectations I had. -- Finance

The University of Texas MBA program has high quality students and faculty, offers a great entrepreneurship program, and provides students with access to elite banks, consulting firms, and local start-up companies. -- Finance

A cost/benefit analysis clearly shows McCombs to be a top choice. Not only did I pay in-state tuition but I also landed an investment banking job making the same money as the Harvard/Wharton grads. On top of that, the valuation experience that I gained as a student-manager of the $12 million MBA Investment Fund has given me a significant competitive advantage over my peers. -- Investment Banking

UT has one of the best entrepreneurship programs in the country and provides the best general management program for the cost of the education. Austin is a dynamic city, which should recover quickly from the current economic downturn. -- Marketing

This in an incredible education with incredible people. You will end up with all that you desire from a MBA program, but in an environment that is friendly and helpful in addition to being competitive and challenging. Not all programs can truly boast this. -- Marketing

A top quality MBA without the arrogance or pretense associated with other Top 20 programs. Some of the best people you'll ever meet in one of the best cities anywhere. -- Real Estate

Although there wasn't a financial reward in my circumstance, I did extract the intended reward of diversifying my career beyond technical engineering positions. UT offered everything I could have demanded with the exception of high exposure to the financial services industry, which is largely attributable to their location, and not the quality of the program. -- Finance

The program is in a state of flux due to a new dean and a shakeup in the Entrepreneurship program. I would recommend that friends wait a year or two to see if the situation has stabilized before enrolling. -- Investment Banking

The material presented in most MBA programs is probably similar, but what really sets a premier program apart is the quality of the people. I am proud to have been part of a group of students, professors, researchers, and staff that concentrated all of their efforts on making my experience invaluable. -- Finance
