CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

Business school was an excellent experience, and stands as the greatest two years of my life. Stern has an excellent program and I would recommend it to anyone looking to go to business school. -- Investment Banking

Stern probably has the best finance program in the World. I think the program is underrated; there are a lot of very talented professors besides the well known. There are a lot of in-depth courses and lectures, which may not be appreciated, however, for a finance professional who wants to be in the frontier of the industry, you can expect to learn and advance your knowledge virtually in all aspects of finance. -- Finance

An MBA is as good as you make it, at least to some extent. Stern is in a great location, which matters more than I had originally thought it would when it comes down to finding a job. The people are terrific, very supportive and they work hard. -- Marketing

I wanted to enter into the finance profession through an MBA. NYU provided me with an excellent education in finance and thoroughly prepared me for the job. Due to the fantastic location, I was also able to meet with several investment banks and explore many opportunities. I also learned how to market myself with potential employers. -- Finance

I felt like I got a lot out of the experience here because the Stern community is strong and I have met a great group of people. The education was solid and my exposure outside the classroom to different people and places was really beneficial to me. -- Media/Entertainment

The culture at the school and the relationships I have developed will undoubtedly generate a substantial return to me down the road. Given the initiatives that Stern has undertaken in the past two years, I believe that the Stern alumni network will be an extremely powerful force within five years. -- Marketing

Without a doubt it was the defining moment of my life. I learned so much and grew more then I could ever imagine, and to get the opportunity to this in the greatest city in the world, New York, is unbelievable. -- Venture Capital/Private Equity

I definitely would urge friends and colleagues to attend Stern, a program in which I not only furthered my education but also expanded my personal and professional network. By being active in school, I was able to meet a variety of people with unique backgrounds and from numerous countries. Attending Stern was a fulfilling experience. -- Consulting

Stern far exceeded my expectations of business school in general, and the program specifically. The quality of the faculty and fellow students is top-notch, and the location, and Stern's leveraging of the location, is unbeatable. I could not imagine going to business school anywhere else. The only reason I hesitate to give a ten is because some students may prefer to study in an isolated location. To them, I would suggest Cornell or Dartmouth. -- Financial Services

I have found my experience here very rewarding both in terms of an educational standpoint as well as a cultural one. People don't realize how much you learn not only from your classes and your classroom but the environment in which you live. NYU is the only school to put you smack-dab in the middle of the action! -- Finance

NYU Stern has a strong core program that encompasses the fundamentals of business, as well as great electives that expand on the strong foundation. The MBA program opens up opportunities that otherwise would be difficult to come by. -- Finance

Stern provides rigorous academic training in an atmosphere that is both collegial and non-competitive. The student body here brings so much to the classroom, and the program is very international. Then, of course, there is the New York factor. Location is everything, especially when so many companies that recruit at school are literally in the campus' backyard. -- Finance

I loved my experience at NYU! I truly believe that all the time and effort I put into the MBA paid off. Coming from working in the public and non-profit sectors, I was looking for a highly number oriented program that would allow me to develop my quantitative skills. However, I am aware that not everyone has the same needs. MBA’s should take the time to make sure the program they select matches their needs. -- Finance

I would urge friends and colleagues to enroll in the same MBA program. Stern has a lot to offer and has really been developing as an institution. But is not quite all the way there. The school has made great strides in the last few years and is continuing on in the right direction, it just needs a little bit more time to get there. -- Marketing

The MBA is not just an academic experience but a life experience. There is no better place to have this experience than in the heart of the West Village of New York. I would encourage anyone looking to get an MBA to consider Stern for that reason alone. -- Marketing

I vastly underestimated the value that a Stern MBA would give me. It opened up doors that never would have been opened to me had I chosen to go to one of the other schools where I was accepted. As soon as you say that you are from NYU, the strong reputation precedes you and even in this tough job market, doors open, and I was able to land my job of choice. -- Finance

NYU is an excellent program with a bright future. The staff is obsessed with improving in every area. It is trying to leverage every advantage it has being in the heart of New York. It has a way to go, not every department is strong, but you can't go wrong by going there. And soon it will have a lot more space for students, no small feat in Manhattan. -- Marketing

Stern has a wonderful finance program with some great professors. More importantly, the students and the school culture made this an amazing experience. People like to study and play hard. The student body is competitive, but not with each other. People would frequently go out of their way to help a fellow classmate with schoolwork or interviews. -- Investment Management

I can't stress enough how responsive the Stern administration was to the student's needs. They were constantly asking us for our feedback and ways they could improve the school. -- Consulting

Stern was an unbelievable experience for me. Not only did I go back to school and get a great education and a great job, I met my future wife! -- Sell Side Equity Research
