CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

Without question, my past two years at Stanford have been the best of my life. Not only do I feel better prepared for my future career, but, more importantly, I leave Stanford with a lifelong network of contacts and close friendships. While other business schools could have also afforded me a good education, Stanford sets itself apart in the unparalleled caliber of its student body. Going to business school was a difficult decision for me, but looking back on my past two years at Stanford, I know it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. -- Venture Capital/Private Equity

The students, faculty, and administration made it a phenomenal experience. It will more than pay for itself. There are only a handful of schools for which that is true. -- Hedge Fund

Amazing place, brilliant people, and an unbelievable culture of open dialogue and friendly atmosphere where pushing your limits and working on your weaknesses is highly encouraged and accepted. -- Venture Capital/Private Equity

Stanford GSB is an incredible place. I am consistently amazed by the intelligence, diversity, and kindness of my classmates. I believe the administration is supportive of students, and makes decisions in the long term best interest of the school. I have found the faculty to be responsive and engaging. I feel very lucky to have spent two years of my time here. -- Human Resources

I consider my two years at business school to be a real gift. It’s been an amazing experience that I feel fortunate to be a part of, and would highly recommend it to others. -- Consulting

Stanford GSB provides an outstanding environment for collaborative learning. I have never before met such an exceptional group of fellow students. Having Silicon Valley next door is definitely important. The great weather is also a plus. -- Venture Capital/Private Equity

I come from a non-traditional background and had doubts about how an MBA would be useful. An MBA is excellent training, and Stanford goes out of its way to provide the training appropriate for any sector. -- Entrepreneurship

I think Stanford is a unique place to get an MBA. The size of the class, the geographic location, the quality of the students, the quality of the faculty, and the quality of the resources makes the experience second to none. -- Venture Capital/Private Equity

It is the most incredible community you can imagine. High quality, diverse students, and faculty make the place truly amazing. -- Consulting

I loved the Stanford MBA program. In particular, I was amazed at how much I learned about the practical aspects of business, while the extracurricular opportunities went far beyond what anyone could possibly keep up with. Expectations were set very high, both by teachers and classmates, yet the spirit of cooperation and camaraderie made the competition enjoyable. -- Sustainable Business

Stanford was a fabulous growth experience, both professionally and personally. I have graduated with greater business knowledge, stronger professional contacts, and a much more mature understanding of my own leadership style. Plus it was so much fun! -- Marketing

I didn't view business school as a financial transaction. Business school opened up tremendous opportunities, even if those opportunities were lower paying. Stanford opens up a lot of doors, and that's why I wanted to return to school. -- Real Estate Development

No other business school has successfully combined a world-class faculty, incredibly bright students, and a culture that promotes teamwork over self in the way that Stanford Business School has done. Besides, it averages 80 degrees and is sunny year round. Why would you want to go anywhere else? -- Venture Capital/Private Equity

Stanford has proven to me that the smaller, collaborative approach to B-school is simply superior to other forms. Diversity of students and professors are un-matched. Demands of first year core classes and range of opportunities in the second year are a perfect balance between structured and interest-driven curriculum. -- Finance

Stanford is a place that allows many different opinions and viewpoints to emerge and thrive. I feel the academic experience was rigorous, demanding, and educational. Most important, it occurs in a place that allows students to explore their own personal and professional goals and challenge the beliefs they hold upon entering B-school, yielding a much more well-rounded and self-reflective person upon graduation. -- Undecided

My experience at the Stanford GSB has profoundly shaped my life and my outlook on the world, in completely positive ways. I have worked hard, but I have also enjoyed these past two years. If I could do it all over again, I would not change a thing. I often recommend the GSB to friends of mine, because I have valued the experience so much. -- Nonprofit
