The Saïd Business Schools' state-of-the art building is only two years old, therfore all technological improvements are largely the result of this. The Schools' IT infrastructure is a Microsoft Platform. The network comprises seventeen servers utilising Windows Advanced Server 2000 operating system, Exchange Server, SQL, 4500 in-house network points, multiple star topology fibre-optic cabling to run Gigabit Ethernet utilising TCP/IP protocol. The school has extensive audio-visual equipment and systems in its nine major teaching spaces and other areas where presentations occur. Five of the lecture theatres are equipped with the latest dual high resolution and brightness data projectors, slide projectors, visualizers, video, sound systems and audio. These are all electronically controlled by touch panel and also remotely over the School network.
The largest lecture theatre has a full control room and the flexibility to cater for sophisticated outside users by adding equipment, such as simultaneous translation.
One of the lecture theatres is equipped with four remotely controlled cameras for videoconferencing and preparation of video material. All seating in the five lecture theatres have individual power and datapoints.
