CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS
The program is great in that it’s a little smaller than the other programs around the country so you really get a chance to develop a great bond with the other students and faculty. Additionally, the city of Minneapolis is a great place to be and offers so many options of entertainment. -- Marketing
You can experience various challenges from life-related, to school matter, to career stuff. This gives you more balanced idea on your own career development and personal integrity. -- Consulting
The Carlson School of Management is focused on students' needs and desires, which I think is what every MBA wants and needs. The faculty is flexible and can incorporate their real-world experience. The career center staff is very focused on bringing in recruiters and helping students find jobs. The MBA program staff is very responsive on operational, service, and program issues. -- Finance
Carlson is a great program. Rigorous academics, access to cutting-edge research, excellent faculty, and tremendous opportunities for student leadership. Good career services and access to diverse Minneapolis/St. Paul business community, as well as to national employers. Strong chapters of Graduate Women in Business, Net Impact, and a variety of other very active student clubs. -- Finance
The Carlson school is not only an amazing value for the money, it is one of the only schools where you can choose from several experiential learning and leadership opportunities that truly will prepare you for the marketplace. -- Finance
On-campus interviewing continues to be dominated by regional companies. If your ultimate goal is to work on the East or West coast, you will need to take the initiative. The school will help by providing plenty of counseling and some financial assistance but it will be more of an individual pursuit. -- Finance
I was very impressed with the overall quality of the MBA education and extracurricular experiences. I've gained not only a strong working knowledge of general management principles but also, the confidence to use those principles in the workplace. I also have gained confidence in my leadership skills and ability to manage a complex organization. Moreover, the Carlson School MBA is my passport to a strong business community with nearly limitless opportunities for professional growth and a network of alumni in influential positions. -- Marketing
Excellent program with close ties to the Twin Cities business community. Small class sizes where everyone knows each other, top notch faculty and facility, and three new enterprises: investment, business development, and technology solutions, to gain experiences working with real companies on real issues. -- Finance
B-school at the Carlson School of Management offered me much more than just the fantastic education; it also offered me the opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest in the management circles of tomorrow. I definitely recommend this school as one of the best schools in the country to enroll. I think the school has made strides that exceed those of other schools. Getting my MBA was one of the most challenging endeavors I have ever been associated with, and it was more than worth the cost and late nights. Great friends, great faculty, and great organization. Hard to compete with this program! -- Finance
A distance-learning program is a good substitute for people for whom physical attendance is difficult or impossible, but it cannot duplicate classroom learning environment. -- Consulting
The teambuilding at Carlson is excellent. Long after the classroom lessons have faded, the experience of working in dynamic teams, with talented people from around the country and the world will remain. The faculty seamlessly combined academic theory with real world savvy, giving us a strong advantage as we re-enter the professional ranks. -- Investment Banking
It is too cold for people from the west coast. If the weather is not an issue, the school offers a very good environment for learning through classroom, classmates, and experimental learning opportunities. The school has a very open and honest environment to build teamwork skills, problem solving skills, and leadership skills. Its career service is excellent and very helpful for job hunting. Overall, if people like the cold temperature Minnesota has to offer, I would recommend the school. -- Information Technology
The overall experience was much better than I had hoped. The school does everything it can for the students to meet their educational and other needs. The Minneapolis community is extremely supportive of the school and in tough economic times like the current, provides many more job opportunities than any other major city. -- Investment Banking
