We have a diverse student population that adds a tremendous amount to the classroom, as well as the personality of the school. You learn about LIFE at Maryland, not just business. Students are very entrepreneurial, but also very collaborative. This breeds students who want to work together to constantly improve the school. The quality of teaching at UMD is exceptional and they strike a great balance between case work and lectures. The core classes are consolidated into one year, which is great. It enables you to focus on electives beginning in the second semester of the first year. Great quality students who each bring different and exceptional experience to the program. Lastly, I think the Experimental Learning Modules greatly enhance the program. -- Finance

I felt that the Maryland MBA is undervalued. The quality of education you receive for the price of tuition is very good. The core program integrates business operation extremely well. With the core alone, an individual has a much better understanding of managing an enterprise. Depending on the course of concentration, the university takes full advantage of well-known professionals from the area to teach. The Smith School of Business provided an optimal environment that was cooperative as well as competitive. Also, for my friends and colleagues interested in money management, the Smith School's Mayer Fund allows select second year students to manage a $1 million portfolio of equities in a structured environment.
