CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The Kelley School of Business has outstanding faculty in an environment that is cooperative, not competitive. Bloomington and the IU campus have a lot to offer between sports, cultural events, and outdoor activities. It's safe, clean, friendly, and affordable. -- Information Technology

I believe that the program at the Kelley School of Business taught me more than I expected, and it challenged me to perform. I learned more than just business, but how to behave in a professional manner, and how to develop my "soft skills." Most of my friends and colleagues come from a similar background as me, so I think they could get just as much out of the program as I did. -- Operations

My experience at IU has been very fulfilling in many ways. I've developed my knowledge of the business world as a whole through a very intensive core. In addition, I had ample time to focus on my major through over one year of electives. The faculty has been fantastic and the team spirit here at Kelley is hard to beat. -- Finance

The quality of the professors, especially in the first year core, is outstanding. They and the administration bend over backwards to make sure that every student has resources they need to excel. The students are more concerned with helping each other learn than competing with each other over grades. The atmosphere fosters teamwork over individual competition, which is what I believe companies are looking for in future leaders. -- Marketing

I believe that the program at the Kelley School of Business demonstrates the well-balanced in-class and life experience. We have a great body of professors and instructors. More importantly, the team-based approach really provided the students the critical skills to be successful in their future career. -- Finance

Kelley's program provided me with the opportunity to matriculate in a top-notch program with professors of the highest quality. Kelley MBA's graduate with skills that allow one to compete for positions on every level with graduates of other elite programs. -- Finance

There is no better value than a Kelley MBA. I have competed against, and worked with, MBA’s from most of the other top twenty business schools and feel I received a superior education and have been better prepared to function in the working world. I was constantly impressed with the applicability of the information I learned at Kelley to my experience as a summer intern. -- Strategic Planning

Kelley already had good facilities but now, starting in 2003, it will have a state of the art building and facilities. Life in Bloomington is great and the cost of living is relatively low. The quality of the professors exceeded my expectations greatly. The congeniality between students is excellent. -- Information Technology

Indiana is a great place to be a graduate student. The "small" atmosphere allows for extensive interaction with professors and other students. The school works very hard to meet the needs of the students. -- Investment Banking

Timing is everything. Indiana has a great program and a good faculty. However, Graduate Career Services isn’t that well equipped to handle recruiting in a bad economy. -- Marketing

The culture, quality of professors, and camaraderie of fellow classmates proved to be a unique MBA experience. Enough cannot be said of the professors at IU. I truly feel as if I have an advantage over MBA’s from other schools. -- Marketing

The time demands of the Kelley program are extreme but, in my opinion, the results were worth it. Although I feel I have been transformed by the program and my experiences, I know of very few people that have what it takes to commit themselves and make the sacrifices necessary to succeed at the Kelley School of Business. -- Finance

I can't imagine any school offering a better return on investment than IU. I paid $12,000 a year (after a $6,000 scholarship) for a wonderful education that allowed me to dramatically improve my long-term career trajectory. I'm emerging with very manageable debt and a great job. I can't thank IU enough for what they've done. -- Finance

The Kelley School is dedicated to its students and ensuring a positive educational experience. Classes are challenging, professors are helpful and interested in each student's success. The program is proud of the students and trusts them to be Kelley School ambassadors to perspective recruiters, current recruiters, and future students. -- Marketing

When I am in a position to hire MBA level talent, I will gladly hire a fellow Kelley alum. I won't do it out of blind allegiance to my alma mater, but rather because I will know he or she successfully completed one of the most rigorous programs by working well in very diverse teams. The global business environment demands these skills which are so greatly emphasized at Kelley. -- Operations

I have been very happy overall with my MBA experience, but hope to see Kelley participate in emerging trends, such as biotechnology, earlier in the game. I have definitely been exposed to some amazing professors which compare very favorably to those from my previous undergraduate and graduate studies. -- Business Development

[Do you feel you could have learned as much from a distance-learning MBA program?] I would not have had the ability to walk into a professor's office to discuss issues that we were dealing with in class or that were current in the news. I would not have been as able to build my team working and leadership skills in a distance-learning environment. --Operations
