CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

I believe that the Haas MBA education is broad enough that it provides significant value for those looking for a solid business education. In addition, there was enough flexibility to draw on the resources at all the highly-ranked Berkeley graduate programs. -- Entrepreneurship

Same quality of recruiting of many top East Coast schools but with sunshine, an easy-going student body, and unbeatable location near San Francisco, the ocean, and Lake Tahoe. Likely 1/2 the price as well! -- Investment Management

Excellent value. Based on conversations with peers at other business schools, I believe the quality of the students and faculty at Haas are on par with those of any other top business program in the world. This fact, combined with a reasonable tuition level as well as the high quality of life in the San Francisco Bay Area, would secure my recommendation without hesitation. -- Marketing

Berkeley's MBA program is a good balance between theory and practice. It has access to some of the leading companies in today's economy and it takes advantage of its geographical location. -- Information Technology

The school provided me with the finance and accounting fundamentals I need to succeed in business. The close-knit class experience provides for a network of friends and professional contacts that will last long after graduation. -- Finance

In addition to providing me a solid education in a variety of topics I had never studied before, Cal provided me access to an incredible network of approachable people. The spirit of Haas is amazing. I really like my classmates. The last two years were FUN!!! -- Finance

The one thing I enjoyed about Haas that I did not get a sense of from other MBA programs, is the willingness of students to help on another. I would recommend Haas to someone who has sense of "community" and is willing to give back. All of my classmates have left their touch and spirit at Haas in one way or another. This community is very dynamic and by no means passive. Everything is student-run and student-directed and that's what I love about it! -- Finance

The Berkeley MBA gives you not only a thorough set of professional tools in marketing, finance, and accounting, but also a great education in people management and team skills. -- Consulting

Haas has an unfailingly open atmosphere that encourages independent thinking and cooperative work. It is demanding and holds high standards. The faculty are accomplished, respected authorities in their fields, and with very few exceptions, excellent teachers who work hard to be just that. The breadth of coursework provides the means to customize a strong, professionally, and personally meaningful curriculum. -- Nonprofit

Without the superior teaching, curriculum, and career assistance I received at my school, I would not have been able to switch careers and obtain the ideal job that I now have. Haas offers a personalized experience, along with diversity and an outstanding student body. -- Finance

The program was cooperative, comprehensive, and professional and had incredible access to the most sought after individuals, companies, and emerging technologies prevalent in industry today. -- Marketing

This is a program that goes beyond imparting business skills. It develops one's character and social network. The sense of teamwork and camaraderie is very strong. The academic program is rigorous but grounded on reality. -- Marketing

Attending Haas was truly a blissful experience. The people, faculty, staff, and students, were all extremely intelligent and completely collaborative. This was NOT a cutthroat environment and I feel like I've made friends and gained skills to last a lifetime. -- Marketing

The MBA program at Berkeley provides a great launching pad for a career in the Bay Area. The relatively cheap public tuition, talented faculty, and excellent alumni contacts make it a great investment. -- Finance

Haas has a diverse, interesting group of people. Students come here to really learn a new skill set, not to just attain a degree that will get them to the next pay level. I love the type of students Haas attracts! -- Marketing

I would highly recommend the Haas program because it has a lot to offer. What makes it special is its technology program, social venture competition, and the atmosphere of cooperation among students. The community is very tight-knit and professors are highly accessible. I was consistently impressed by the thoughtfulness and involvement of my fellow students. -- Information Technology

Haas has shown that it has the flexibility to change with the market. It was at the forefront of IT and E-business, and as the economy adjusts, so to does the coursework and teaching at my school. The faculty is dynamic and will always be leaders in their fields. -- Finance

Haas has an energy to it that is hard to describe. I have been privileged to meet hundreds of the most amazing people in the past two years. All of the sudden my world is a much larger place. -- Marketing
