CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

It is a rigorous and comprehensive program. The faculty is top-shelf and the student mix is extremely valuable. -- Entrepreneurship

The one-year accelerated program was an excellent way to get a lot out of business school without taking away an extra year from your life. -- Physician

Although Weatherhead is not ranked in the top 50 business schools, it is still an outstanding institution with superb faculty particularly in Entrepreneurship, Finance, Operations Management, and Organizational Behavior concentrations. The fact that it took two years to find a dean is a bit disturbing. Hopefully, things will change. But I would still highly recommend Weatherhead based on faculty and student fellowship. You are very supported and encouraged to reach beyond your goals. -- Marketing

I believe that Weatherhead trains their MBAs to work harder and seek alternative solutions. In a business environment that has an accelerated pace of change, managers that can think and work hard will be highly valued. I think that MBAs from some other schools rest too much on their school's name or ranking. They do not have the same relationship with needing to work hard. -- Marketing

This is a school to watch in the next three years. It will attract a higher quality of students and faculty. There is a clear move to integrate academic learning with live consulting work. The Dean and the management have a strong strategic plan in place to take us within the top 15-20 schools in three years. -- Human Resources

I have learned through my MBA experience that one can definitely achieve a lot if stretched to the limit. It requires perseverance and dedication but the feeling that one gets on reaching the summit is unexplainable. The MBA process also helped me to appreciate teamwork in a different perspective - understanding how people function in a team is the key driver for success. -- Finance

Overall I was very satisfied with the program. In many respects my expectations were exceeded. I was particularly impressed with the breadth of elective courses offered, as well as the practical experience that many of these course instructors had. For example, I had instructors/professors that were either current or former CEOs, directors on boards, and even an owner of a venture capital fund. -- Finance

Weatherhead offers a challenging curriculum that is geared towards individuals with significant work experience. I never once felt that I had made a poor decision to attend Weatherhead. It lived up to my expectations and I suspect it would also meet the majority of prospective students' expectations as well. -- Consulting

Case is a very local school in terms of career placement. Those who wish to live in Cleveland or at lease close, will have lots of opportunity (recruiting companies and alumni), those who come from far away and plan to go back will have fewer options. The majority of my friends and colleagues are back at home and would be hit with the same recruiting issues. -- Marketing

The Weatherhead School of Management offers a superior, well-rounded education, and a great learning environment. The entrepreneurship program equipped me with concrete tools for starting my own business. The management assessment and development program, unique to WSOM, taught students leadership and management skills that give us an advantage in the workplace. The faculty is outstanding and always accessible. I graduated armed with a set of great skills, an ability to use them, and the support of a network of colleagues and mentors who will be with me for the rest of my life. -- Marketing

One of the biggest learning experiences I had at Weatherhead was from community service. The school heavily promotes the idea of giving back to the community and heavily supports the student body in their service endeavors. The school even rewards students with recognition. As a co-founder and director of a tax assistance program for low-income families, I learned valuable life lessons about people and additionally learned to fill out my taxes in under 10 minutes. -- Finance
