CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

I believe strongly in the overarching mission of the Marriott School. It isn't enough to develop business skills. Personal integrity among leaders is what the world will benefit most from. The outstanding faculty is in the class instead of away on sabbatical for semesters at a time. The tuition for this program is extremely reasonable. There is a strong network of support. -- Operations

I have gained more than I could have ever expected from this MBA program. The faculty, administration, and my peers have exceeded my expectations. When you look at the value proposition of an MBA from BYU with the extremely low cost of tuition, it is hard to justify going elsewhere. The education and network has far surpassed in value the money I put into it. -- General Management

Brigham Young University's MBA program provides a top-level education in a great environment for minimal cost... How could I recommend anything less to a friend? -- Finance

The MBA program was an excellent experience. The experience was broad, challenging and competitive. Simulation competitions and field studies rounded out a highly organized lock-step style curriculum. The Marriott School has a great atmosphere. -- Finance

BYU offers the most value per dollar of any MBA program in America. While interviewing at various companies, I was able to compare, to some extent, my experiences and business education with other MBA students from Wharton, Michigan, Cornell, and other schools. I found my education and the preparation I received in the BYU MBA program rivaled that of any top ten school. -- Healthcare Management

[Do you feel you could have learned as much from a distance-learning MBA program?] One of the most crucial skills I developed at BYU was the ability to work in teams. While I often thought that BYU overemphasized this facet and in doing so detracted from personal progress and achievement, I also realize that the ability to work cooperatively in teams is an invaluable tool that can only be developed through often painstaking relations with others. You cannot learn skills like this from a distance-learning program. -- Finance

The MBA can be about grades and money. However, this program is about people, decision-making, and business. This has been the best educational experience of my life. -- Finance

This experience has given me, more than anything, the ability and the tools to approach problems and situations with a rigor and work ethic that I had not previously possessed. The analytical skills that I learned in this relatively short time period dwarf the skills that I had coming out of my undergraduate program. Indeed, I believe that I am able to add value to any business in which I find myself employed. The confidence to say that is worth the investment of the time and money by itself. -- Investment Management

The experience I had at BYU's business school far exceeded my expectations. The most valuable aspects of the program can't be quantified in a rankings system: being able to learn in an environment that encourages a work-life balance, being surrounded by students and professors that share high ethical standards, and a deep commitment to their religion. -- Finance

The return on investment was sky high for me. But there was also another component - an intangible - that made all the difference. BYU cared about me as a person. The focus of a BYU education is not money, though we talk about it every day. The focus is being a moral leader who does some good in this world. -- Marketing

It's definitely the best bang for the buck. -- Finance

The personal interaction with professors, professionals, and classmates CANNOT be replaced by technology and yield the level of education. I learned more in group study and dropping by professors' offices on a whim, than I learned studying on my own. In addition, I feel proud having received a degree from physically attending an institution. -- Human Resources

Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management adds humanity to academic rigor. It adds spirituality to economics. The MBA program offered at BYU succeeds in teaching life and business and the difference between the two. Contrary to popular MBA school belief, they are not the same thing. -- Marketing
