The program was staffed by professors with professional experience interested in my development. They were there for the students and had recent real world experience. In addition, they were well connected in the business community. The program was expertly run. My fellow students are high level professionals with a wide variety of executive experience. --New Product Development
The MBA program was all that I had hoped it would be and more. The quality of the professors, materials, facilities, and students were outstanding. Attending and learning was an absolute privilege. --Strategy
Outstanding experience in quality of professors and a very well balanced curriculum. The program really distinguishes itself in its rigorous course work and great teaching environment. --General Management
Out of five EMBA programs I applied to, no other staff was more responsive to my pre-course questions/concerns than Washington University's Olin School of Business. From the initial one-week residency, to the Washington, D.C., residency, to London and to Shanghai, I would argue that no other program offers a more broad-reaching exposure to business outside of the classroom environment than Olin School of Business. As a West Point graduate and current officer in the Army, the intensity, professionalism, relevance, and quality of the EMBA Program exceeded my expectations at all levels. I look forward to a life-long relationship with the Olin School as a member of the EMBA Alumni Association. --Manufacturing
The facility at Washington University is state-of-the art and the professors and staff were tremendous. --Marketing
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Ability to draw students into sharing their real world experience, and show how with additional tools from the program the situation could have been improved even further. Taught lessons with case studies and interactive assignments that really accelerated learning. Challenged us on time management as well as academic excellence. --New Product Development
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths: Were able to relate to real-world experience as well as solicit executive level participation. Their ability to facilitate discussions made the experience extremely rewarding. --Sales
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths: Up-to-date on the latest business theory and instruction, good at getting students involved. Weakness: Some did not have practical work experience. --Marketing
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] In general, the instructors were excellent at conveying the information in interesting and exciting ways. They also were very good at drawing in and incorporating student experiences. It was very valuable to learn how topic applied to different businesses and business units. I work for a high-tech company, but gained a much better understanding of mass media companies, heavy industry, telecom, transportation, insurance, consumer products, and the equity market through class participation that was constructively facilitated by the instructors. --Marketing
[Improvements?] A slightly smaller class. We started with 65 and graduated approximately 58. --Strategy
[Improvements?] Nothing. The day to day experience was beyond any expectation. From the flexibility and helpfulness of the staff to the facility and it's available resources. --Sales
[Company support?] My company was very fair. I was not on the fast track and had to repeatedly ask to be in the program. I was offered an opportunity when the other more senior candidate couldn't attend. They offered me a full tuition package with a three-year hook: 100% re-pay if I leave within the year, 66% within two years, 33% within three years. --New Product Development
It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. I learned as much from the other students as I did the professors. It was an absolutely outstanding program. My learning is directly applicable to my career. --Engineering
Many courses required a great deal of interaction through simulations and "games." One instructor required written case work analysis be turned in the evening before class. The next morning, it was graded and waiting for us. Talk about immediate feedback! Looking back, that's when I learned the most. If all courses could include these teaching techniques, more learning would take place. --Human Resources
[Improvements?] More written work on leadership skills and interpersonal skills. --Marketing
[Improvements?] Addition of Business Law and Employment Law components. --Marketing
Several of us were self-supported financially. I wish the school would have helped more with recruiters and employer contacts. I believe the school has some great recruiting efforts for the regular MBA program but not much for the Executive MBA program. --Human Resources
