School policy:Optional career services program involving career counseling, networking advice and job-related assistance through our Career Resources Center if the student wishes to pursue a new job. Companies are referred to our career office to recruit students.


ALUMNI AFFAIRS

The B-school has awarded 982 executive MBA degrees, and n/a MBA degrees since its founding. It has 18,000 living MBA alumni, and 50 MBA clubs throughout 12 countries, where B-school alums can participate in school activities and alumni events.

72 EMBAs will graduate in 2003, compared to 56 EMBAs that graduated in 1998.

During the past 12 months, n/a of alumni gave to the school's fundraising efforts. They gave a median gift of U.S. n/a, and a mean gift of U.S. n/a. The school has not received a gift in excess of U.S. $10 million between Jan. 2001 and Oct. 2003, and the B-school endowment is U.S. $134,000,000


PROGRAM CHANGES

Significant changes since 2001:
Module on entrepreneurship focuses on how changes in technology can create innovation opportunities; team-based marketing project develops plans to increase sales/profitability of firms; access to alumni companies for mrkting/ops/strategy projects.


TECHNOLOGY

School's investment in technology over the past three years: $17,500,000

Technology changes made over the past three years:
Wireless capabilities added to all areas in and out of Popovich Hall, the graduate student building. Doubled student email capacity. Developed the Marshall Enterprise System for customer relationship management, upgraded projectors and document cameras, and installed new Wacom tablet in MBA classrooms. Provided self-serve videotaping capabilities with wireless mic and new cameras in MBA classrooms. Converted the Crocker Business Library to a new Research and Teaching Resource Center with additional breakout rooms, a new reading area, and a new computer lab with 88 public workstations and six print stations. Upgraded computer labs to Pentium IV PCs running Windows XP with flat-screen monitors. Enabled networked printing for student laptops. Installed two Bloomberg terminals for use by MBA students. Launched MBA laptop program utilizing recommendations from a student task force to determine an optional "standard" laptop for MBA students. Included ability to purchase laptops at reduced prices and technical experts to configure laptops and connect to the network. Enhanced life-long email forwarding service for graduates. Developed an online Help Desk. Enhanced videoconference capabilities. Developed an online teaching evaluation system.
