2003 EXECUTIVE MBA PROFILE
Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management
Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management Executive MBA in International Management
The location, content, quality, and challenge met and exceeded my expectations, and I would choose Thunderbird again in a heartbeat.--Marketing
[Corporate support?] My company usually pays for advanced degrees, however, I was denied this since as a tech company they struggled with how to value this degree. I am currently working to get reimbursement for it.--Finance
My experience was very challenging and I believe the program helped me grow tremendously as a person and problem-solver. I would not change the experience for the world. I am now aware of many other cultures and business aspects and prepared to communicate and work with people at all levels.--Marketing
As Globalization becomes a reality within every possible business arena, Thunderbird offers a phenomenal exposure to international scenarios; both business and culturally. These experiences will provide an advantage that other MBAs cannot or do not offer.--Strategy
I would choose this school again because it was local and I know what a great program it is. I put a lot of effort into learning and I believe I walked away with valuable skills. However, the reputation of the school is not at the level of some of the other business schools within the United States, even with internationally focused companies, this has proven to be a hurdle in the interview process.--Marketing
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths: A majority of the instructors had 20+ years in industry to suppport their teachings. Additionally, the instructors utilized in TBird's EMBA program were the "best of the best" at TBird. Weaknesses: Due to the very nature of the program and the limited amount of face-to-face time with the professors, the demand level was very high on the students.--Strategy
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] All were very knowledgeable of the business world, well traveled and in constant contact with businesses for research and consulting. --Finance
[Changes to program?] It would have bene nice to address more small business and entrepreneurial interests as these business structures are growing in popularity and can even take advantage of international exposure/studies. --Marketing
Every other weekend scheduled made it possible for me to commute 1,000 miles and still be a part of the program. This schedule is very good!--Project Management
