2003 GRADUATE COMMENTS

POC The overall experience was rewarding from both a learning perspective and social perspective. The faculty, staff, and students were all integral parts that added to my overall experience.--Relationship Management

The overall experience I had in the program, including the course material, interaction with the professors, and the relationships I developed with my classmates, was so challenging and enjoyable that it simply could not be replicated. If I had to do it over again, I would want the same exact experience.--Strategy

Excellent program that really meets the students' academic and work needs. The administration set up a well-rounded program that allowed us to learn the core concepts, choose our own elective set of courses, and create mandatory final projects to combine all the learnings from the first and second year.--Software Development

The program provided a good mix of professor and classroom interaction, group study time, and personal involvement. Although at times it appeared extremely burdensome, both the professors and the administration were flexible enough to either cut the work out completely or at the minimum they alleviated our stress by reducing the workload.--Accounting

At NYU you are treated as an individual, and an executive. I was never treated like a number, and it was always the impression that the staff and faculty were honored to teach us, vs. we should be honored to be at their school.--Municipal Derivatives

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The faculty was excellent at engaging students into discussions to tap into the knowledge and experience of the class.--Consultant

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The better professors were those who had actually gained their experience in the real world. For the few whose backgrounds were purely in academia, it was often difficult to convince the class of his or her practical expertise especially, considering on any given subject, someone in the classroom was indeed an expert.--Management

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths were that they tended to be passionate about their subject matter and generally effective at communicating the topics. On the weakness side, professors were not consistently able to relate the coursework to the finance focus of the class.--Finance

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] There was good mixture between faculty members and business professionals. Faculty instructors were specifically selected for the EMBA program and were of excellent quality. Business professionals were oftentimes less didactic than faculty but provided useful perspectives on practical applications.--Research and Development

[Changes to program?] The general classes were quite large since all 55 of us were in one classroom. It would have been helpful and better for discussion if some of those required classes could have been smaller.--Strategy

[Changes to program?] To really have the curriculum tailored to the executive program, not just slightly modified regular MBA courses. The pace often could have been faster and the detail of practical application more robust.--Finance

[Changes to program?] The experience in class was great. NYU has an online system called blackboard. This is a powerful tool which needs to be more integrated into the coursework to provide online data, spreadsheets, etc.--Software Development

[Changes to program?] Every class has its own dynamics from interprersonal relationships to areas of interest. It would have been nice to have more current cases than the tried and true Wal-Mart dossier that seems to pop up so frequently.--Information Technology

[Improvements?] Overall, I felt that the school did everything they could do to help us to incorporate the MBA experience into our lives. They were very flexible with the assignments when necessary.--Strategy

[Improvements?] Make the seats more comfortable!--Information Technology

[Corporate support?] Upon completion of the program, I was overqualifed for my job position with no opportunity for advancement.--Finance

[Corporate support?] I was self-sponsored for the program except for the standard tuition reimbursment that my comapny offers and was using it to bolster my credentials for a career transition post-graduation.--Finance

[Corporate support?] Managing an EMBA requires you to also manage politics internally at your job. Our management changed and the new management did not support me, which was tough. Thankfully I still had a contract to have them pay my tuition.--Marketing

Completing the NYU EMBA program was both one of the most challenging and enjoyable experiences in my career. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking to obtain a quality education and to establish life-long relationships.--Operations

The program was very well run. I especially liked the class schedule because it rotates on Fridays and Saturdays and makes the program more palatable to employers vs. a program which is only offered on Fridays. Most instructors were high-quality, particularly many of the finance professors. --Finance

The culture at NYU is outstanding. A warm, positive environment where everyone truly wants their peers to learn. Competition is present also, but overall the environment was appropriate for my goals. Students are top-notch. Professors are generous with their time and willing to work around students' busy work schedules to meet with students.--Sales
