The format of the curriculum was one of the decisive factors to choose the Executive MBA program at Pepperdine. The contents of all classes throughout the 5 trimester/20 month program were linked and leveraged to provide a 360-degree overview of a business organization. Plus the caliber of faculty members and students was extraordinary. I did not find anything similar in any other program. --Sales
The practical approach of the EMBA Program at Pepperdine is very much in line with what an executive needs to know to lead a company. What I learned on Friday and Saturday, I could put to use on Monday. --Executive
The small classes, attention to the students, quality of the faculty, end of each trimester paper, ethics training, business simulation, and excellent advisers are but a few of the exceptional resources at Pepperdine. --Marketing
The Pepperdine program focused on a "big picture" view that incorporated and leveraged my skills and career experience. The strategic focus has made me more effective across the board (career, life, etc.). --Business
The program came full circle starting with organizational behavior and ending with strategy implementation. Having a project company to apply practices to in a "consultant" capacity allowed students to apply teachings in a business environment. --Finance
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] All of the faculty members have been in the real world as executives of the companies they worked for; therefore, the amount of real experience vs. textbook experience is high. This allows the group to speak the same language while conveying theories using today's experiences. --Marketing
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine is designed to educate leaders in the areas of strategy and implementation. Instructors clearly understood the objectives of the program and worked well towards providing elements necessary to achieve those goals. Some transitional weaknesses occurred between instructors. --Operations
[Changes to program?] Operating in the new economy means competing in a computerized environment. More use of computerized technology to augment classroom learning time would improve the program. --Operations
[Improvements?] The school did a poor job organizing our calendar, sometimes leaving too much interval between classes or then crunching classes within short periods. Due to the intense required reading, preparation, and assignments, the workload sometimes was very heavy. --Sales
[Improvements?] It would have been nice for the school to encourage discussions among family members of EMBA students. This would have provided an outlet for wives, husbands, etc., to vent and support each other as their family members completed the program. --Executive
[Corporate support?] Management within the organization showed minimal support and interest in my advanced education, which fueled my desire to leave the company. I welcomed the corporation's subsequent layoff. My education was highly supported with both compensation and management interest in the contract opportunities I worked during the balance of the program. --Finance
I have considered attaining my MBA for more than 15 years. With the completion of this program I believe I have significantly changed the direction of my future. I'm happy with results of this program and would recommend it highly to others. --Operations
I'm receiving a lot of interest from recruiters who are excited about wanting to present me for permanent employment opportunities. I truly believe being in the program also enabled me to obtain the contract assignments during the balance of the program after I was laid off. --Finance
