2003 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The school succesfully attracts people from all over the world, which gives the program an additional value.--Business Development

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Most teachers had excellent teaching capabilities combined with sound academic background and broad business experience. Teachers were capable of initiating and leading class discussions which made the class benefit from each other's point of view and experiences. --Marketing

[Improvements?] Perhaps this is trivial, but the selection of food provided at lunches was numbingly bland and always the same. However, this reflects more of the Dutch taste than the school's merit. --Operations

[Corporate support?] My company was generally not interested in my MBA studies and refused to fund any part of it. However, my direct supervisor was supportive and increased my pay and allowed time off when required to do the program.--Operations

Every MBA program has its special characteristics. The international focus regarding the student body as well as the background of the lecturers makes it the ideal program for me.--Business

Very fast-paced, intellectually inspiring course. Pragmatic, with good balance and interconnection between theory and business practice. Wide-ranging subjects, covering all management topics. Renowned within as well as outside the Netherlands.--Strategy

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Both theoretical experts as well as business professionals. A very good and interesting mix of international instructors. For improvement I would suggest a further increase of the mix of international instructors and less Dutch instructors.--Internal Auditor

They are a leading European school for the MBA and are consistently in top- ranking positions. In addition to this, they offer MBI programs which show their leaning towards technology, a key core competence in these technology revolutionary days. --Medical Doctor

The RSM program is very well balanced between marketing, finance, and operation. This makes the program the best fit for an operational managerial function.--Operations

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths: the ability to transfer boring theoretical information into attractive and inspiring business cases. Creating the environment to get us working together. Weakness: the program order created heavy workloads at the wrong moments. They are not in balance with the business cycle of working students.--Marketing

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] It is so dependent on the instructor. The quality ranged really from someone reading through a book to excellent instructors who felt what the class needed, drew on questions with examples, and went far beyond what was written in the books or handouts.--Supply Chain

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths: generally, they were instructors with an interesting story and good performance, with a lot of experience in the field, and they were knowlegdeable. Weaknesses: little groupwork, just a few of them were able to design proper assignments.--General Management

[Changes to program?] Smaller groups and more time for discussions. However, this is the nature of the EMBA program.--Business

[Changes to program?] More interpersonal skills, more business visits, and bringing top executives in for class discussions.--General Management

[Improvements?] Possibly the support in reaching some of the teachers. Especially those living in different time zones were harder to reach. However, this had no bad effect on my learning or progress.--Strategy

RSM is a great school, with a good program and reputation. Care should be taken not to let things slip however, by growing too fast and taking on too many students. Quality should be priority No. 1. --Strategy
