2003 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The program delivered a robust curriculum taught by well respected senior and tenured faculty members. The student body selection process at Cornell promises a highly diverse student body that provides for a richer learning environment. This, coupled with the responsiveness of faculty and administration, make the experience challenging yet as painless as possible.--Finance

The Cornell Executive MBA program provided access to excellent faculty and staff. The program structure and schedule allowed me to maintain a balance between work, school, and family life while pursuing knowledge and skills that have given me a competitive advantage in my workplace.--Performance Analysis

I expected high quality professors and a rigorous curriculum at Cornell, which I definitely experienced. However, I underestimated how important the quality of fellow students is in the educational process. My program was filled with outstanding people and Cornell's tight culture fostered an environment that allowed me learn a tremendous amount from my fellow students.--Marketing

Cornell's EMBA provided the top level faculty that you would expect. However, the faculty was much more accessible than I expected. They go out of their way to make sure that the students are the number one focus in the program. Everyone was very supportive and worked in a collabrative effort. The facilities at the IBM Palisades is top notch. It is located in a quiet neighborhood that facilitates learning.--Other

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The strength of the faculty was their commitment to teaching. The faculty were not only dedicated teachers, most were accomplished scholars, too. That combination made the courses informative and enjoyable. There were very few weaknesses in the instruction.--Strategy

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths: approachable, knowledgeable (academic and practical), responsive, and fun. They are true educators that take pride in teaching. Weakness: intermittent insensitivity to our professional workload.--Marketing

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The instructors demonstrated a great enthusiasm for their areas of expertise. This made the classroom discussions interesting. Their teaching style was effective and professional. We were privileged to have such a stellar group of instructors who really cared about making the EMBA program a stimulating learning experience. They also made great efforts to overcome the distance barrier that existed in between classes by using email and web-hosted review sessions.--Engineering

[Changes to program?] Some slight adjustments to the order in which several classes fell in the curriculum.--Programs & Engineering

[Changes to program?] My only concern now that I've completed the program is that those great ideas I would steal from class on a Saturday and present at work on Monday will dry up!--Marketing

[Improvements?] I would have to say that Cornell was very attentive. It was really just grueling juggling my career with school. Anytime I called or e-mailed anyone within the Johnson School for help or assistance, I had a response the same day. It is very difficult for me to say my day to day experiences could have been made easier.--Development

[Improvements?] The IBM training facilities were an excellent place to have classes. The classrooms were state-of-the-art. Allowing a longer lunch break, and alloting a study-group session in between classes would have helped.--Engineering

[Corporate support?] I got a new job/new company in the middle of my program. [My] new employer did not sponsor me, and was not motivated to help...but clearly liked the upside benefit, which is probably why they hired me to begin with.--Management and Industry Analysis

[Corporate support?] Unfortunately my employer did not take advanatge of my learnings. They did not take any interest and hence I have now left and will be joining a competitor who sees the value of my MBA.--Strategy

For a newer program, I think they've done a tremendous job by listening to their customers, the students. I think this program will only continue to get better and better as it recieves the recognition it deserves.--Finance
