Chicago GSB exceeded my expectations. The curriculum and the professors were excellent. In addition, the school put together an extremely talented group of students with diverse backrounds, which made classroom discussion a stimulating and educational experience. --Legal
Chicago is a first-class business school, and the faculty is outstanding. The program was really geared to meet the needs and challenges of a mid-level executive. The cohort system was also a great way to facilitiate group projects and develop strong relationships with the others on my team. --Accounting
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The University of Chicago has a very quantitative edge, so many of the classes were quite analytical. However, the faculty did a good job of teaching to all levels of expertise in the class. --Sales
[Improvements?] Improve the quality of the copier machine, which consequently was updated after our graduation. Cultural diversification of food choices would have further enhanced the eating experience. However, this is a minor issue. --Sales
I researched 10 to 12 top programs in my region and settled on Chicago as offering the top education, facilities, faculty, resources, proven alumni network, and career-development opportunities. Chicago was my first choice, and I have never looked back on the decision. --Attorney
The diversified group experience and the calibre of graduates that attend Chicago make the difference. I also liked the fact that the program has both a European and Asian flavor, which is invaluable in the networking world. The professors at Chicago are driving new and exciting theories, and classes are up to date and on the cusp of management advances. --Marketing
The University of Chicago has a world-class reputation in Finance and Investments. The international aspects of the program were very important to me, as well. The program helped me round out my development while extending my Finance and Investments knowledge. However, one the of the best aspects of the program was the colleagues I met. The depth, breadth and talent of that group is simply amazing. --Finance
My objective in attending the University of Chicago was to learn more about finance and economics. The program not only met my expectations, it grossly exceded them. After completing the program, I now feel very confident in dealing with finance and accounting matters. For a person like me with a sales and marketing background, this is a tremendous accomplishment. --Marketing
Coming from the legal field with little to none in the way of formal business schooling, I wanted to go to a school with a core focus on the basics so I could build from there. I also wanted as much exposure to finance and economics as I could find, and the University of Chicago is one of the best in those areas. --Legal
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The main strengths were their ability to teach the subject matters in a very interesting way and also to set very aggressive and challenging goals for what students were supposed to acquire in each course. --Software Development
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Ability to boil down the material to the key concepts. They consult with companies or have experience working in the real world in their professions and can relate concepts they teach to real world situations. Many are at the cutting edge of their fields, and it was useful to discuss course material and concepts with them. --Research and Developement
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The strengths of the faculty were their ability to keep the class engaged -- our discussions were terrific -- and their ability to keep their content up-to-date. The faculty were extraordinarily accessible to discuss classwork and provide advice regarding our professional lives. --Operations
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Their strengths included forward thinking, ability to convey their material, and involvement with the class. Their weakness was reaching all class members. EMBA classes contain a broad spectrum of backgrounds and skill. Those class members with no background in a particular subject struggled at times. --Finance
[Changes to program?] Better balance of pace from course to course. We were "revved up" and then let down with slower-moving material a couple of times during the program. --Manufacturing
[Improvements?] For the most part, everything was excellent. The one area in which I do take a slight issue is that I think the school pays a little too much lip service to its commitment to family issues. I'm married with children and was not overly impressed with the incorporation of family into the overall program. --Attorney
[Improvements?] Sounds silly, but a policy of changing seats each week. Everyone picked a seat at the start of the program and largely stayed in that seat. I got to know those around me exceptionally well. By deliberately moving everyone around, the networking and friendships may have been more broad and deep. --Finance
[Improvements?] The administration did a great job of taking care of the details so we could focus on school. I was very pleased with the program and can't think of anything that would have improved it. My classmates, teachers, and program combined to give me one of the best learning experiences of my life. --Marketing
[Corporate support?] I changed jobs when I was about 75% complete with the program. While the MBA was not a requirement of the new job, it was a significant "selling point" and has been a strong asset since starting the new position. --Arttorney
[Corporate support?] I was the first person at my firm to attend an EMBA program, so they didn't know what to expect. I benefited greatly and demonstrated increased capability, which has cleared the way for future employees to attend. --Finance
In general, the international scope of the Chicago program offers a significent advantage in that it allows a more global view of subject matter to be debated among different global viewpoints, and this adds to the experience. --Marketing
I definitely recommend the University of Chicago EMBA program to the middle- to upper-level manager who has determined they want to contribute to their organization at a higher level. The education preparation, the experiential application, and the network elevate the participant's confidence, awareness, and wisdom to accept and meet executive challenges. --Service
