2003 GRADUATE COMMENTS
The program offered everything I was looking for in achieving my Executive MBA, including diversity and experience of the class, quality of the professors, dealing with current issues and practices, and a good mix of learning both in a team atmosphere and individually.--Sales
The program was extremely well-grounded in practical applications of the academic material. The combination of outstanding instructors and a diverse, high-level class population brought great depth to all areas covered. Concluding the program with an actual live case consulting assignment provided an excellent capstone for the program.--Finance
Due to work and private-life balance, ASU offered the best of both worlds. I was able to attend, meet the time requirements for both work and school, and still stay married!-- Manufacturing
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths and weaknesses varied by professor. Most professors were very good at facilitating learning in an interactive manner, thereby encouraging contributions from the students. The best instructors allowed most of the learning to come from the experience of the students. A few instructors used the more traditional lecturing format, which was not as effective. Fortunately there were only a couple of professors that fit that profile.--Executive Management
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Key Strengths: Most of the instructors were businesss-school faculty that were well regarded in their fields. In addition to their academic credentials, they were also outstanding instructors -- very engaging and challenging in their case discussions and willing to spend time outside of class. Most of the instructors seemed to prefer working with the Executive classes due to the richer dialogue that occurred there. I can't think of any significant weaknesses.--Operations
At times, the bar was very high to get over. I believe this was driven by the knowledge of the faculty, compressed schedules, the exceptionally high caliber of program participants, and the competitive spirit of the program.--Engineering
[Changes to program?] My day-to-day experience was first-class! The staff handled the administrative issues (parking, books), and we showed up to work hard and learn.--Engineering
Looking back on it, I wouldn't have wanted to do an MBA any other way than the executive program. The caliber of the instructors, and especially my fellow students, gave me an education experience that could not be had in any other kind of MBA. I am proud to be a W.P. Carey MBA from the Executive Program.--Finance
It was great to interact with people who were similar to me in levels of experience, knowledge, outlook, and goals rather than being in a class with people who graduated from undergraduate school in the past 1-4 years. The live case study (working with a real small business to help them solve real problems) for the Strategic Management class was a highlight of the program. Great finance classes and international business elements (including trip overseas). Nice breadth of courses from organizational behavior to hardcore finance, which exposed us to all elements of business.--Operations
