CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The MBA program at Kenan-Flagler immerses the student in challenging classes and an interesting, diverse student body. I learned a lot in the classroom, but I also learned a lot from my fellow students, and the connections I've made here will be helpful throughout my career. -- Corporate Strategy

I love Carolina. I think you get the rigor of other good schools in a much more comfortable and amicable environment. In addition, the alumni network, although not as large as schools with 800 student classes, is filled with individuals that are very interested in interacting with current students. On numerous occasions I e-mailed alums, and got responses within 24 hours. The facility is awesome, and the professors are extremely easy to talk to, constantly available, and put the extra time in to help students really learn the information. Wonderful experience. -- Marketing

The MBA at UNC-Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School is an outstanding program. It is academically strong, with great faculty and curricula. The truly outstanding aspect is the teamwork. It is an excellent environment in which to learn, both academics and team oriented work habits. -- Strategy

Different schools cater better to the needs of different individuals. Kenan-Flagler provided an outstanding, all-around, general management education. Friends and colleagues who are interested in building more technical skills, or who are focused on specializing in a specific area, may not fit with the strengths of Kenan-Flagler. -- Finance

The professors are outstanding, the town is charming and inexpensive, the electives offered are diverse and many, and the Career Services Director is amazing. -- Marketing

For people with goals like mine, KFBS was perfect. Excellent team participation/leadership basis for work. Excellent career-building potential. As a career switcher, KFBS gave me everything I needed to make the transition. Access to the research triangle park companies is a terrific asset that I did not even consider. Chapel Hill is a great place to live for two years or, in my case, the foreseeable future. -- Marketing

The professors are great and the course work really prepares you to be ready for that next step in your career. In addition to the great academics, you have the opportunity to spend two years in a great location with classmates who will soon be great friends. -- Real Estate Development

The program at Kenan-Flagler Business School exceeded my expectations regarding international exposure, networking, and education. I was truly impressed by my classmates and their experiences that contributed to my education. The MBA program is a lot of work, but it is work for yourself and you get out of it as much, if not more, than you put in. -- Marketing

[Do you feel you could have learned as much from a distance-learning MBA program?] Most of what I learned over the course of my MBA experience was intangible. These things include how to effectively manage diverse groups in a team setting, how to listen, how to deliver an effective presentation, how to interview, and so on. I don't believe these skills can be developed effectively through distance-learning. -- Finance

Kenan-Flagler offers a program where the students work alongside the administration to make a difference and to accept ownership of the program. The quality of the student body, in their commitment to teamwork, is unparalleled. -- Business Development

I feel that KFBS works hard to create individuals with a strong sense of ethics, and understanding of the effects of business decisions on physical and social environments, and a healthy respect for the increasingly international scope of commerce. KFBS MBA's know that their choices will affect numerous stakeholders and keep this in mind as they make decisions. -- Anonymous
