TECHNOLOGY
Wireless network in main buildings: No
School's investment in technology over the past three years: $6,000,000
Technology changes made over the past three years:
1. The school installed a Gigabit Ethernet Local Area Network connecting every building on the campus, including all 342 dorm rooms. There are just under 400 public network ports, so students can access computing services easily from just about anywhere on campus. In addition, the campus LAN supports a Virtual Private Network to the campus in Archamps, France.
2. The school completed the development of "My Thunderbird", the school's learning portal/course management system. My Thunderbird provides each student, staff and faculty member with their own personalized web page configured to their role/responsibilities at the school. Students can access email, on-line research databases, calendars, discussion groups, etc. Faculty web pages provide course management capabilities. My Thunderbird also provides a Career Management/Job Recruiting capability.
3. All Student Services have been integrated in the "My Thunderbird" portal, including the admissions process, class registration, drop/add, access to grades, transcript requests, school calendar, posting of resumes, reviewing job postings, signing up for job interviews, etc.
4. The "eThunderbird" e-Learning platform has been developed to support multi-media learning experiences delivered on-line.
