CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

What I liked about the Moore School is it’s excellent faculty, particularly in Finance. The school is located in a small city and has one of the lowest fees among all MBA schools. These are compelling reasons for anyone doing their MBA program at USC. -- Finance

It's a program on the rise. They are merging all three master's programs; MBA, MIBS, and IMBA, into one MBA program. I received a good education and it should only get better. -- Finance

USC has a very flexible program with excellent professors. The staff is very warm and caring. The International Office is also very friendly and helpful. The living expense is very low. The location is good; close to the beach, lake, and the mountains. The weather is very nice; warm and rarely snows. Southern people are very nice and warm-hearted. -- Anonymous

The school offers a tremendous value for the money you pay. If you want to get a great MBA at a great price, then the University of South Carolina is the place to do it. -- Finance

At USC, the school has merged its MBA with the International MBA. The program has an intense first semester with seven classes taken. I feel this short changes the actual learning, cutting knowledge for the international internship. Internships are great, but they should be internships, not a nine-month job. If work experience is desired, do not choose MBA school. -- Finance

Elective coursework was very helpful, although I would have liked to have seen more variety and number of courses offered. Core classes were very monotonous, often conducted like an undergraduate course where memorization, rather than application, was stressed. -- Consulting

[Do you feel you could have learned as much from a distance-learning MBA program?] The day-to-day interactions I had with students from around the world were invaluable to my overall experience in an MBA program. The class discussions and group work really added to my learning. If I had done a distance-learning program, I would have deprived myself of learning how to deal with other cultures in a business setting. I feel this experience will greatly assist me in my career. -- Operations
