TECHNOLOGY

School's investment in technology over the past three years: $5,000,000

Technology changes made over the past three years:
The school has invested in establishing a new network and server infrastructure. This includes the installation of wireless networks, high-speed network infrastructure, highy reliable Storage Area Networks, and high performance servers. On the software and application side, Sloan has developed an "e-learning" platform called SloanSpace for supporting course mangement and online communities. SloanSpace has quickly become Sloan's collaboration platform and is in use by students, faculty, staff, and researchers. SloanSpace will soon be made available also to alumni. The platform will also be released worldwide as a fully "opensource" e-learning platform. In the area of educational technology, Sloan has created a number of programs ranging from the Merrill Lynch "Investments" Course to an iCampus project (Microsoft - MIT Research Alliance) to build the next generation eLearning platform based on modularized "web services".
