TECHNOLOGY
Wireless network in main buildings: Yes
School's investment in technology over the past three years: $7,500,000
Technology changes made over the past three years:
Each student is provided with a free, fully loaded laptop computer, upgraded this year to Pentium 4 and a two spindle unit to make the laptop lighter and trimmer. Wireless adaptors are an integral part of the computer. The new building is fully wired with a high- speed netowrk with a comprehensive wireless overlay. Students and faculty can work any where in the building. The El Paso Corporation Finance Center marries AV and computing to create a flexible teaching too which goes beyond a trading room. A research lab as well as a small classroom, finance center material can be displayed in an adjoining larger classroom. The building has two capture classrooms,
equipped with technologies that will record the entire classroom experience - student-teacher discussions, presentations, demonstrations, videos, slides, and other materials used - with minimal disruption. Conferencing technologies are installed in the classroom, allowing broadcast videoconferencing that allow for enhanced opportunities for collaboration with others outside the Jones School for distance learning. The school has a behaviorial studies suite with observation rooms, group process rooms, and individual study rooms.
