CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

Having made an exchange at London Business School, I can quite objectively assess the quality of the HEC MBA program. I am convinced that HEC offers a condensed (16 months) and demanding MBA with excellent academic quality, comprehensive but balanced course contents, and real student diversity. -- Consulting

HEC MBA program is composed of around 75% of non-French students. In that respect, it is a true international program. In addition, the campus is equipped with lodging and sports facilities which make it easy to balance study life and extra-curricular activities. The spirit of this MBA throughout the years has been competitive but without hindering the overall co-operation of the students. -- Operations

It's a unique academic and human experience, with people from over thirty countries, with the widest variety of backgrounds. -- Operations

If one wants to study hard, play hard, learn some French, and make many life long friends during his or her MBA program, HEC is definitely the first choice. -- Finance

HEC is a great school. There are a few important issues that the school needs to address in order to be a truly top MBA program, but the fundamentals are already there. The diversity of the student and faculty bodies are non-existent in most other business schools and the fraternity and camaraderie developed here is seldom heard of in other schools. Even when doing our own job searches, we help each other, and never compete. In the end, we are happier people, with the same intellectual and business training, but with a much friendlier network. -- Financial Communications

HEC combines the business world and the possibility of living in France and, above all, in Europe. That is an advantage in comparaison to U.S. universities . And, concerning other European schools, France is the best place to be if you are also interested in European culture and art. Besides, HEC is one of the most international programs giving you the possibility to deal with an important issue in this current globalized world -- cultural diversity. -- Finance

The HEC School of Management offers the best value for time/money in that it is international (over 70% of students are non-French), offers a great teaching faculty (leading French business professors), stresses a philosophy of co-operation to achieve excellence and, at the same time, lasts only 16 months and costs less than most other top-tier MBAs. -- Investment Banking

[It was an] excellent opportunity to learn French, and to meet and understand varied international mindsets. Excellent class size allowing students and professors to understand each other. Good coaching although we did have our share of complaints. Paris is a nice and interesting city. All said and done, the French are warm and nice people, once you get to know them. Total cost of the education is relatively low and the curriculum lasts only for 16 months. Not too long nor too short. -- Anonymous

The HEC program met my expectations by its well designed courses, outstanding professors, and the cooperative spirit of the student body. Besides this, I improved my French. I took most courses in English since i could't speak Fench at first, but I still learned French through the French language course. -- Marketing

The students who enroll in the program come from very diverse cultures and have very particular backgrounds and work histories. The school emphasizes teamwork and learning from your peers' experiences. Internationally recognized teachers give exciting lectures, support students efforts, are available for informal discussions with students, and encourage students' participation in classes. The length of the program ensures enough time to acquire the basis of business management and, through a wide range of electives, gives the students the possibility to tailor their curriculum according to their future career goals. Last but not least, life on the school's campus is an unforgettable experience. -- Information Technology

My MBA was the best teaching I have ever had. I would recommend it to every engineer with five years experience. After it, I really feel able to rule a company, which was my first target. And I think that HEC was a good choice, because of its magnificent campus, and beacause of the quality of the students and teachers. -- Finance
