CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The faculty and staff have been very accommodating. The other students are top quality and the atmosphere is decidedly supportive. Even though we worked in teams of five or less, all my classmates were always available as sounding boards. I have never worked with a better group of people. The experience was fantastic. -- Legal

I joined the MBA program as a joint-degree student also earning my doctorate in pharmacy. The MBA from the University of Florida vastly expanded my post graduation opportunities in part due to the strong alumni involvement by former PharmD/MBA's from Florida. The MBA program accommodated ALL of my needs as a joint degree student. In return I believe that our experiences complemented the diverse array of backgrounds of our classmates constituting a very dynamic learning environment of many perspectives. -- Marketing

My MBA experience at UF was highly enjoyable and beneficial. The staff, students, and the collegiate environment, not to mention the weather, are all elements that make Warrington's MBA experience second to none. -- Marketing

I believe that the Florida MBA program provides a considerable degree of value for the price. Both the education and the networking opportunities within the state of Florida are superb. The faculty is well trained, caring, and focuses on teaching as well as research. -- Finance

I would highly recommend my program based on the quality of education and quality of lifestyle while at school. The only instance, in which I wouldn't recommend the program, is if my friend or colleague was interested in certain careers such as Wall Street investment banking or employment with a high profile management-consulting firm. -- Finance

The team environment at the University of Florida provided a terrific learning environment. In a business, the success of the organization is built on the efforts and success of everyone working collectively working toward the success of the company. Similarly, the students in the program are interested in helping everyone learn and work towards the success of teams instead of focusing on individual success. -- U.S. Navy

In my opinion, I believe that much of our programs success is derived from the diversity of our student body; more than just geographic or cultural backgrounds, but also experiential. The diversity of career experiences of our students prior to B-school is augmented by the diversity of our many joint degree students (Medical, Law, Biotech, Journalism, Engineering, etc.)! -- Marketing

In my research of schools prior to joining the MBA program at the University of Florida, I found none that matched the reputation and resources that UF offered for anywhere near the cost. My understanding of business as a whole has increased ten fold and would urge anyone I know to strongly consider UF for their MBA. -- Finance

If you're looking to obtain an MBA - LOOK NO FURTHER. The University of Florida MBA program is an expectional program in terms of value and excellence. The program is particularly sound in the areas of finance, real estate, and marketing. I would recommend the program to anyone looking to obtain an MBA. Not only is the program one of the best in the Southeast, it also offers a top-20 education at a fraction of the cost. The only areas where I see the need for improvement are in Career Services and Alumni Relations. But, I can see both these areas improving in the coming years with the changes and vision already underway. -- Finance

Excellent finance teachers, but students should be ready to pursue there own job searches. They should already have prospects before they go back to school. The on-campus interviews are limited. -- Portfolio Management

Florida provides one of the best values for an MBA - great faculty, low costs, and an overall great education. However, the job market for Florida MBA's is mainly Southeast-based and [students] tend to be overlooked by firms that feel they must recruit MBA's from higher "ranked" (top 20) programs. I feel this is strictly an image problem that hinders a Florida MBA graduate. The talent pool of Florida MBA's is just as strong as any in the country. -- Marketing

The faculty staff at the Univeristy of Florida was exceptional. They allowed for interactive learning with a truely diverse student population and provided quality information for use in the business world. -- Anonymous
