CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS
UB provided an excellent education that I would be willing to compare to any of the top institution, and it was received at the paltry cost of $5,000 a year in tuition. What a steal! -- Law School
Coming from a medical background, I feel that I have a through understanding of business concepts and practices. I would encourage friends to pursue a MBA from UB. -- Marketing
UB's tuition is really inexpensive, but the education I received was excellent. The professors and administrators are always soliciting feedback and are always willing to offer students extra help if they need it. The group work is rewarding and allows people to interact with different types of students with different backgrounds and nationalities. -- Law
I found the experience greatly inspiring, indeed, so inspiring as to make me proceed on to a PhD in Finance. The Faculty members in Finance included Dr. Rozeff, Dr. Chung, and Dr. Mandell -- each of whom represented the best in their fields. The focus on solving societal needs, that makes up the backbone of the MBA program, greatly impressed me. Overall, it is good value for the money, I would say. -- Finance
The MBA program expanded my knowledge base and assisted me in developing intangible skills that will be beneficial throughout my career. -- Finance
While there are some professors that are stronger researchers than teachers, most of them are very dedicated to helping the students learn. Although the economy is in a slump at this time, the Career Resource Center is usually very helpful in assisting students in their job searches. Interim Dean Newman is dedicated to promoting and recognizing our premier professors. All in all, it was a good experience. -- Marketing
The course material and structure in Finance at UB is among the best. Some of the professors are outstanding. The problem lies in the fact that many of the MBA entrants come without any professional background and with extremely low GMAT scores, being local candidates. The kind of blind indulgence being given to non-meritorious local candidates is the real bane of this university, as this policy greatly reduces standards. Otherwise the MBA program is a fine one. -- Finance
For people living in Western New York, UB is the best option for an education. Other schools offer accelerated programs, however they do not meet the standards or reputation of this school. -- Anonymous
Overall school reputation, diversity, and information technology exceeds many higher ranked schools. However, the MBA school lacks resources, facilities, and good teachers. Finally, the location is too far away from major city and financial center. -- Information Technology
The professors were excellent teachers and really gave great insight into the real business world. Their in-class insight was often presented so that you could fit it into current events that corresponded to their curriculum to help equate the material into real world ideas. The two years were a wonderful, worthwhile experience and the learning that occurred will definitely give me an advantage over most other MBAs. -- Law School
