Technology changes made over the past three years:
The College of Business Administration’s $10 million building renovation includes upgraded computer labs, classrooms have been upgraded with state-of-the-art multimedia including ceiling mounted monitors and data ports for student’s laptop computers. In order to keep pace with rapidly changing technology, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is being implemented throughout the College. Currently, SAP/R3 software is being integrated into the business curriculum. Though much of the student’s library research can be conducted from their PC and modem, the College houses eight laboratory facilities with 146 computers and related software libraries. Visual Basic, Power Builder, COOL GEN CASE tool, Microsoft Office Suites, and the Netscape web browser, as well as DOS, OS/2, and Windows operating systems are available for use by students. Students also have access to several Microsoft products at a greatly reduced cost. All students have e-mail accounts, access to the Internet, and are able to complete advising via the Internet using e-mail and CyberAdvising, the UTA pioneered electronic advising system.
