School's investment in technology over the past three years: $1,710,000
Technology changes made over the past three years:
The Faculty of Management is committed to maintaining and improving technology that supports the teaching and learning objectives of the school, and that helps to meet research goals. To this end, we have an upgrade cycle for student, faculty, and staff computers, infrastructure (servers, switches, routers, wiring, etc.), software, and classroom projection equipment, and we do planned upgrades each year. In addition to attention given to hardware and software, we provide training opportunities for those using the equipment, and we work to build relationships with those in technology support roles on campus who help us in service delivery. We provide essential information to students through the use of websites for courses and service areas. Specific projects since Summer 1998 that demonstrate our committment: . All student equipment in the building has been upgraded during this three year period; we have increased the number of workstations for students by 14 during that time, bringing the total number of computers in public use areas to 168 . All faculty and staff equipment in the building has been upgraded in this three year period . Software for web development has been upgraded and improved; training has been provided in the use of web development tools . Have just completed a major infrastructure project, upgrading the router and switches in our building network . Have upgraded projection equipment in all classrooms during the three year period; computer equipment for classroom use is upgraded every second year . Have built and maintained a portal site for students that gives each student personalized access to websites for their own courses, and where they can easily reach essential services (e.g. the recently updated Management Career Centre site)
