TECHNOLOGY

Technology changes made over the past three years:
The school implementated a Gigabit Ethernet LAN bringing 10Mbsp connectivity to every part of campus. The entire campus was wired, including every dorm room and all student activity, meeting, and study areas. 350 Internet access ready network ports throughout all student areas of campus were installed. Wide Area Networking to the school's centers in Japan and France was implemented. On campus linkage to the school's document imaging center from any port on campus was made available. A campus-wide enterprise learning portal (My Thunderbird) for all the school's stakeholders including students, alumni, faculty, staff, corporate recruiters, executive education clients, trustees, and advisors was developed. A community center allowing alumni, students, and staff to interact online and support the activities of various stakeholders was added. Direct linkage from students' intranet portal Web page directly to all research databases and other library resources via a Web browser was developed. The school also added a robust career management system which provides the matching of student skills with job requirements, scheduling of interviews, and the automatice posting of jobs via an extranet job submission application. A host of online student services, including grade reporting and registration, were deployed.
