Distance courses offered or planned:
The school has joined forces with Mexico's leading technology university to create a Center for Innovation in Learning. Faculty from Kenan-Flagler and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) are collaborating to design innovative new courses and cutting-edge teaching tools using the most advanced technologies. The school is also delivering portions of some programs via distance learning for pre-work and for follow-up action planning for participants. The school claims that teaching via this method is not viable for all courses. The school also claims that this method works best for courses with high didactic content, less viable for higher levels of abstraction and for programs that require high levels of personal interaction.
Plans to extend executive education offerings:
Yes. Courses under development include Real Options, Advanced Human Resources Program, Strategy, and Post Mergers and Acquisitions Integration. The school is also planning an expansion of its current facility to double the classroom and sleeping space. Construction is expected to begin in 2003.
