The workload was heavy, but the instructors were compassionate to family situations. While I could identify weaknesses of particular instructors, frankly, I can't identify a weakness of the EMBA instructors as a group. --Tax
Enjoyable mix of backgrounds, including faculty strong in practical business experience, as well as top notch academics and researchers. Economics, leadership, statistics and operations faculty are world class. Faculty is approachable and responsive. Continuing development in the areas of entrepreneurship, technology and finance will keep the program current and impactful. --Marketing
Some of the elective classes should have been longer to adequately cover the material. --Engineering
This program is an incredible example of effective experiential learning. It has opened up new worlds of possibility to me, and I will cherish lifelong bonds to everyone in and associated with the program. The week-long orientation and residential studies in (Washington) D.C., London, and Asia help to solidify the class and change our viewpoint dramatically. --Marketing
The staff did a great job but I recommended they get the (course) materials out sooner. --Marketing
(Improvements?) The (school) has been doing a wonderful job. The only (improvement) I could think of is to give course evaluations during the courses. I mean, if you evaluate a course after you do it, you can not benefit from the evaluation. Just the next class. --Finance
Washington University's EMBA program focused on "learning" with a mix of both theoretical and practical application. The Dean and faculty were very adamant on providing an environment where one was continuously challenged, exposed to a very appropriate, targeted, and relevant curriculum, and created a classroom environment where the 12 to 20-year-experienced student was treated as a professional and a colleague. --Human Resources
The staff was very responsive and helpful. One time, I needed to bring my sons for a couple of hours. They fed them breakfast and helped entertain them on the computer while I attended class. I never expected them to help or ask. It was offered and greatly appreciated. --Anonymous
Some of the management and interpersonal management skills classes were electives, and I thought they were more valuable to present and future managers than some of the nuts and bolts electives and even some of the core courses. I would make even more management and "people" classes mandatory. --Marketing
(Improvements?) Weed out faculty who do not have the skills to communicate and teach effectively. Be more selective in the caliber of students admitted to the program. --Business Management
Genuinely, I have no complaints. This was a first rate program enhanced by a high quality group of students. It exceeded my expectations across the board. Based on the generous class gift (largest in Olin EMBA history) I would say that my class peers also found it to be a first rate experience. On a personal note, MBA school is a LOT of work. Time management and stamina are important. Some may think EMBA programs are "business school lite". I took a regular MBA evening class during the summer and felt the EMBA learning was significantly better due to the exceptional caliber and experience of the students. (Other B-schools have) good programs, but lack the strong team environment at Olin. --Marketing
(Improvements?) Less favoritism by professors of students who were employed by major contributors to the university. --Finance
I could not have asked for a better program in practical knowledge and applying it to the real world situations. The profs were great at consulting in actual problems on the side for free. --Operations
