GRADUATE COMMENTS

Untitled I was very impressed with the quality of 80% of the students. The lower 20% did not belong in an MBA program. --Anonymous

Staff was great. They provided everything from hotel reservations, great food, ballgame tickets, books (no standing in lines with other students). Great job! --Information Technology

The strengths were numerous and included instructor quality, teaching quality, flexibility to accommodate students who elected to travel great distances to attend the UNC program instead of selecting one that was closer to their home. --Research

The EMBA staff was terrific; they went out of their way to accommodate my particular travel needs. UNC has exemplary teachers and curriculum. And the culture/atmosphere is one of learning. The teachers and staff know that we live complex lives; they keep the big picture in mind. --Human Resources

I would have liked to work with others outside of my group earlier in the program. The electives afforded us this opportunity, but for 12 months you were stuck with the same 5 people. --Management

The EMBA staff was excellent and very accommodating. The facilities are beautiful. The food was excellent. Many social events were provided to have the class develop a personal relationship. --Information Technology

(Suggestions?) Less food! Program administrators treated us as if they were over-indulging Italian mamas all doting over us, thereby introducing us to an unwelcome, but sentimental return of the dreaded "Freshman 15." --Development

Overall very impressed with the program, but extremely discouraged that the program did not offer career placement assistance, particularly since my current employer was not contributing more than 1% to my education. --Supply Chain

The travel, rooms, accommodations, etc., all went without a problem. Their willingness to help and be flexible to the students needs was above and beyond. Looking back on the experience, this is a critical point to an EMBA program. If the administrative staff feels like it is your privilege to attend their program, then life could be very difficult. KFBS is very customer service oriented and that IS important to managers and executives whose schedules are very busy and complicated. --Strategy

(Instructors?) I was surprised at the level of practical experience that the instructors possessed. Our class had a tremendous amount of real world experience and did not hesitate to put in our two cents worth. We tested each instructor and I was pleasantly and consistently surprised at the depth to which they were able to connect theory and practice. --Operations

(Instructors?) They knew their subject matter and were able to convey that knowledge in a manner that was understandable and applicable to the situation. They encouraged, no, they demanded that we develop our critical assessment and strategic skills in order to effectively engage our studies. --Accounting

(Suggestions?) I believe they are overly concerned with losing corporate support for the minority of students who have it. From my perspective, a major value added would be to encourage and enable campus-related corporate recruitment for the EMBA students. --Anonymous
