The University of Texas eMBA program combines the academic rigor of a traditional program with the advantage of solving difficult case problems with other executives and professionals in my area. It is a great way to see how the CEO of a company "down the street" approaches problem analysis. My study group had a CEO of an Austin-based company, a doctor, a lawyer, a banker, a consulting services manager, a high tech exec, and a database administrator. We could form our own city. --Software Development
(Instructors?) Lots of real world experience, which they brought back to the class. They continue to be involved in consulting with big corporations which enhanced our learning exprience and brough a sense of "reality" rather than just theory to their teaching. All instuctors are highly qualified and widely published. --Consulting
Top notch instructors; extremely bright classmates, highly organized and coordinated program, demanding and rigorous, but worth the effort. To be honest, the classroom experience was fantastic. The instructors really sought to engage the students without detracting from the information needing to be covered. --General Manager
Strengths: We seemed to have the best instructors at UT. The environment was not competitive in the sense that classmates would withhold information to gain an edge. We were encouraged to share our views and discuss them, which is very helpful considering the amount of experience our classmates had. Weaknesses: The international seminar only focused on Europe and Russia. It should have had information on Asia Pacific and Latin America. --Marketing
I have the good fortune of living close a Top 10 EMBA program that is much less expensive than the other 9 programs, provides excellent support both during and after the program, and provides practical management experience as well as theory. --Anonymous
(Improvements?) More comfortable chairs. We attend classes two days in a row, for eight hours a day. The chairs are terribly uncomfortable. Otherwise the staff went out of their way to meet the needs of the class and every individual. --Business Management
(Instructors?) Strengths: Diversity and industry consulting experience. Weaknesses: Occasional use of out-of-date cases. --Marketing
They need to do something to help people graduating locate new jobs. This is basically nonexistent and very disappointing. Career service doesn't exist outside of a strong alumni network after this program. --Law
The program staff does an excellent job of student orientation and team-building. They handle all administrative tasks within the department rather than making the students deal with the massive, bureaucratic "system". They did 110% of what I would have wanted. --Sales
I was very pleased with the breadth of courses and level of instruction provided by the faculty and staff of the UT Option II program. The program provided me with a good base of general business management knowledge to excel in my career. --Marketing
