GRADUATE COMMENTS

It is because of the renowned reputation of Queen's in Canada and worldwide that makes it one of the most sought-after universities. I just cannot afford myself to choose the second best. --Information

Technology (Instructors?) Meticulously professional, contemporary, and they somehow managed to make all that hard work a ton of fun! They really walk their talk - even in the way the school sets its strategy as a business, they demonstrate that they know business. --Operations

The blend of academic and consulting experience of the professors was a definite strength. The weakness was noticable only in a few professors that did not utilize the video-conferencing format to maximum benefit or were not accustomed to the video-conferencing format. --Sales Manager

[Editor's note: Queen's School of Business offers an EMBA program delivered via videoconferencing to executives in numerous board rooms across Canada. The program also includes some face-to-face sessions.]

Queen's School of Business' National Executive program, through video-conferencing, is unlike any other in Canada, and perhaps the world. I could run my company from Edmonton, travel on business to any of 11 cities across the country, and never miss a class. Additionally, the team-based, boardroom learning method emulates the realities of business meetings and negotiations. Video-conferencing, as the medium for learning, is not a barrier as it is easily percieved. It actually facilitates more interactivity and a sharing of ideas across a whole country. --Executive/President

The caliber of the Professors was second to none. Although the program was fast paced, I received individualized attention when necessary. I felt valued as a program participant. --Marketing

The professors were very good and the selections of courses was a range broad enough to open my mind to global economy. The facilities were comfortable and the video-conferencing allowed for attendance in different cities. --Management Consulting

Queens did an exceptional job of providing the support necessary while balancing a demanding program with a demanding job and family. They made sure that details were always taken care of so these things did not add additional stress. For example, all of our materials and text books arrived 3 to 4 weeks before the beginning of a new class. This meant you didn't have to go to bookstores and search for books and had the materials in time to do prep work prior to the beginning of a course. --Strategy

(Instructors?) Strengths: very passionate about their subject matter and their enthusiasm was infectious; they were very sensitive to students learning needs for the most part. Weaknesses: Some of the subject matter was so new, it was difficult for the instructor to get it across to some students in a simply understood manner. --Operations

(Improvements?) Get rid of the bell curve and weed out students that shouldn't belong within the program. I felt somewhat dissatisfied with the calibre of students graduating along side of me. It was clear that they were kept in the program in order to maintain margins or some other reason. --Finance

(Improvements?) A summer break of at least 2 months for our mental health. 21 straight months was tough! --Finance
