GRADUATE COMMENTS

Untitled Illinois does an excellent job catering to our needs. Student assistants helped with coping, printing not only school work but with business related material if needed. More available phones for calls during breaks would be nice but in the scheme of things seems pretty minor. --Marketing

There were some areas where individual professors need to improve in terms of course content and delivery, but these are the exception to the rule. Overall quality was great. Support staff/office could be better. There was a fair amount of turnover in the EMBA office during the two years I was there. There were situations where the ideas/direction (Europe trip is best example) were good, but details of execution could be improved. --Technology

I truly feel that this education was beneficial, and will eventually produce tangible rewards. I also believe that U of I's EMBA was the best school for me (reputation, curriculum, tuition(comparatively), study group, structure and accommodations). I also took the program at the right time in my life. My group mates were a source of knowledge, comradely and support. One cannot get this type of learning if it were primarily online. They would miss out on so much from their classmates. --Physician

The program and professors were outstanding; however, the distance learning process needs to be significantly enhanced to truly maximize the learning experience. I do believe that each year the UI EMBA program is making progress on improving this area. --Anonymous

The instructors were very strong in their areas, and did an excellent job of pulling your daily experiences into the classroom and applying the concepts and teachings to those experiences. Weaknesses tended to be technical (again as related to the remote students). --Operations

The international internship was an excellent experience. As we continue to globalize, more and more emphasis needs to be placed on these types of programs and experiences. --Business Development

Program was very flexible in accommodating the demands of my job. I was promoted halfway through the program which required me to move from central Illinois. I was attending classes at the main campus in Champaign Illinois and after my move was able to attend via a video link from the Chicago campus. The international residency portion of the program was outstanding and I found it particularly valuable for my career. --Supply Chain

It was a great experience. I would recommend the University of IL program to anyone as an excellent value and a great world class experience. The two week overseas study and casework experience was awesome. The one caution I offer to prospective EMBA students is to consider the loss of time with family and friends. Involvement in a program such as the EMBA will take most of your evenings, weekends and other free time for the duration of the program. Be prepared for this sacrifice, once the time is gone, you can never recapture it! --Marketing

The majority of the instructors loved to teach the executives as they learned from us about the business world. Most instructors were aware of the family commitment that most students had and would make concessions only when well deserved. Few teachers on the faculty could improve on teaching skills. --Finance

UIUC EMBA Program is well respected in the region and a great buy for the current tuition price. Network of UIUC EMBA Alumni is excellent. The workload exceeded my expectations, but I thoroughly enjoyed the intellectual challenge. --Retail Banking
