GRADUATE COMMENTS

Untitled (Instructors?) [Their] strengths included current and comprehensive knowledge in their fields and excellent ability to draw on student experience. --Operations

[I was] unsatisfied with the pool of students. Buffalo is a dying city and the attendees were not what I was expecting. --Operations

(Improvements?) The establishment of a study group immediately, with no modification over the course of two years should be re-evaluated. I think shuffling these groups each semester (or year at the most) would work better, and be more representative of the situations in the workplace. --Engineering

(Instructors?) The major weakness was their lack of concern regarding how well the students learned the material and if the material taught applied to real world situations. There was a general attitude of not caring about effective teaching methods. --Management

(Instructors?) The instructors who proved most effective were those that really attempted to connect with the students - not just lecture. Most professors were just as interested in learning from the students. --Operations

I think the school should have more selective admission criteria [and] have better enforcement of behavioral and academic expectations once students are accepted. --Medicine

Most instructors elicited excellent classroom discussion, offered well-constructed and tested syllabi, and appropriately challenging assignments. They usually offered current case studies or consulting experiences as in-class examples. --Marketing

The administrative staff was the best part of the experience. They were very customer focused and I would even say, "took care of us." --Development

The biggest challenge in the Buffalo marketplace is attracting corporate leaders to the EMBA program. Our class had 33 students - I think at least 12 should not have been admitted. [They had either] not enough useful experience or poor analytical skills. --Marketing

(Improvements?) More examples from the local economy and the influence/opportunity our proximity to Canada presents would be great. --Strategy

[It] proved to be a well-balanced program. It offers state-of-the art knowledge of business leadership, management and technologies. --Strategy
