The Florida MBA is strong in the education of e-business managers and information technology analysts. Although I don't have a top 10 MBA alma mater to name-drop at cocktail parties (and I'm not deep in debt as a result), I have received a great business education and a great e-business job. --Information Technology
The UF MBA Program is unquestionably a 'hidden treasure' and an incredible value for those who have the maturity and discipline to seek out resources, guidance, and mentors (faculty and alumni). The experience of myself and my peers has been nothing less than transformational. The program should be ranked nationally for its quality in the areas of finance, marketing, e-commerce, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship. --Venture Capital/Private Equity
The general staff, professors, and fellow students were of the highest quality at this MBA program. The classes were challenging, stimulating, and highly educational. They provided not only theoretical knowledge but also practical applications that will help in my future career. However, the career services office is severely lacking. They fail to attract quality companies for recruiting purposes and do little to help students make contact with the companies on their own. This department is a 'black-eye' and an embarrassment to a program that is otherwise top notch in all regards. --Marketing
UF MBA program is excellent overall. The career resource center needs work, but this is well known and the school is attempting to do something positive about it. The school offers a great 'bang for your buck.' --Entrepreneurship
Gainesville is a great place to live and the university is a great place to study -- very spirited with great diversity in a casual atmosphere. I was always impressed by my classmates. The student body is both talented and resourceful and work groups were, overall, a wonderful experience. Students share ideas for learning and contacts with employers easily. I found that the rigors and stress of the MBA program were often offset by the great students, administrators, and faculty. I am so pleased that I invested in my education at UF. The business community will see many great leaders and 'doers' who are graduates of the program. --Information Technology
The University of Florida offers great value for its money. The faculty is really good but the career services office needs serious improvement. The school just entered a transition period (new goals, new director, and staff) I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the top 20 in the next 5 years! --Investment Banking
What a truly life-changing experience! I'm *SO* glad I didn't go to an 'MBA Farm,' like Wharton or Kellogg (as I had originally planned). The student culture of UF's program was not nearly as competitive as those schools, yet I believe that I have gotten an education that rivals both! If fact, the e-commerce and DIS curriculum that I focused on is light-years ahead of those programs! Sure, Florida's MBA program has its share of problems (what program doesn't?)...but this environment is ideal for developing the 'leaders of tomorrow.' It gave me numerous opportunities to display and hone my leadership skills...and I feel as though I have had a positive impact on this program.
The academic environment was challenging...the faculty was tremendous...the camaraderie was unbelievable...and I am a different man as a result. So much so, that now I want to teach in an MBA program -- thus, I have declined the job offers I received and am now pursuing a PhD following graduation. In conclusion, let me say that while we had a few students here that never seemed to 'fit in' with our culture -- they complained about everything -- I'm sure that you'll find the majority of our students would not have traded the last two years for anything. I am most certainly better off today than I was two years ago. --Anonymous
As one of the few Hispanic American women pursuing an MBA, Florida was a well rounded program that valued my experience in marketing over my GMAT scores, relative to other programs. As a result, I was able to garner the skills I was looking to enhance my career. I am also graduating with a 3.75 GPA which proves that GMATS are not always indicative of performance. The marketing faculty is a jewel in the rough at Florida, evidenced by their impressive ranking in U.S. News & World Report. The administration should expand their marketing curriculum to reflect the existing talent. Through other sources, I competed for jobs against other candidates from top B-schools such as Wharton, Cornell, and Harvard. I felt completely confident of my skills, and this was evidenced by subsequent job offers. It was unfortunate that I had to go off campus to seek these opportunities and this is an area in which recruiters should take note. Hopefully our future rankings will reflect our significant degree of talent. --Marketing
I thoroughly enjoyed my academic experiences at Florida. The quality of the faculty and students is truly outstanding. The facilities and technological resources were quite acceptable for a state institution. The friendships I have made here will last throughout my life. Unfortunately, our career services office is a completely disorganized disaster. They offered virtually no support in my career search and left me and many of my colleagues, particularly those of us in the marketing concentration, completely on our own to find gainful employment. The CSO is an embarrassment to the Florida MBA Programs. --Marketing
Fantastic MBA experience. Top-notch faculty, especially in finance and marketing, and extremely dedicated program office staff. Extremely impressed with quality of instruction and emphasis upon technology. Great educational 'bang for the buck', with tuition much lower than similar schools. --Finance
A new director hired a few years back has really impressed the students thus far. Probably going to be really good for this program. This year is probably the bottoming out phase for this program as far as rankings go. Changes are probably coming in the career services office. I had a great experience here. I got the job I wanted, and didn't have to pay loads of cash to get it. --Investment Banking
UF is a great value for the money. The teaching there is as good as most in the top 25. The Warrington College of Business prides itself on its PhD program, which clashes with the MBA program, which has a different breed of students with different needs. Because the college is strapped for resources, its dilemma lies in which program to serve best. Love the University. Go Gators! --Venture Capital/Private Equity
Multicultural experiences in the MBA helps a lot to understand the way business are done around the world. The team environment that the MBA encouraged helped a lot in this learning process. --Information Technology
I feel the University of Florida's MBA/Master in Health Administration program has prepared me extremely well for life after graduate school. I am working at a big-five consulting firm, and feel that my education and experiences were as good if not better than my peers who started at the same time I did from other MBA schools in the southeast (including University of Georgia, UNC-Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt, and Duke). --Consulting
