The Hankamer School of Business installed a wireless LAN for the MBA program, giving students ready access to the Baylor network without physically plugging their laptops into a network outlet. The school added 12 multimedia computer classrooms and upgraded the majority of the network cabling infrastructure for faculty offices. The school created an Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) , consisting of 100 desktop computers, the largest collection of software on the campus, two high-speed laser printers, color laser printer and two graphics workstations with video and photo editing capability, digital camera, camcorder and scanner. All devices have access to the HSB LAN and Internet. One third of the standard desktop computers are replaced every year to ensure that every student computing need is met. The high-speed laser printers, color laser printer and the graphics workstations are replaced every two years to provide the students with access to up-to-date input and output devices. Also, the school created the Institute for Emerging Technologies which includes the IET computer lab where students work on projects relating to emerging technologies. Finally, softboards (electronic whiteboards) were added to classrooms.
