Monica Gagnier

Monica (Roman) Gagnier is a senior copy editor at BusinessWeek.com and contributes to the Recession in America blog. She returned to BusinessWeek in May, 1999, as a copy editor after reporting on independent film for Variety and media and entertainment for The Hollywood Reporter. During her first stint at BusinessWeek, from 1989 to 1992, Gagnier edited and wrote profiles of business schools and New York area corporations. Prior to that, she co-founded Trading Systems Technology, a financial tech newsletter, for Waters Information Services, in 1987, and was a New York-based financial reporter for Investor's Business Daily and Fairchild News Service. Gagnier is a 1982 graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
