Rafiq Dossani is a senior research scholar at the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center of Stanford University and is responsible for directing its South Asia Initiative. He teaches courses in the development, religion, and politics of South Asia. A specialist on sectoral policy reform, he has advised the Indian government on telecommunications, venture capital, energy, and rural access to information technology. He has degrees from St. Stephen's College, Delhi; the Indian Institute of Management at Calcutta, and Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
