Jan C. Ting, a nationally recognized authority on immigration law, is a professor at Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia. From 1990 to 1993 he served as assistant commissioner at the Immigration and Naturalization Service during George H.W. Bush's Administration. A frequent writer and speaker on immigration and national security, Ting has testified before Congress and the 9/11 Commission. He is a frequent media source for, and has published commentary in, major national print and broadcast media including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, NPR, NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and The Today Show. He is a senior fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, the Center for Immigration Studies, and the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. Ting ran as the 2006 Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware, and recently served on Rudy Giuliani's Immigration Advisory Board.
