David A. Wyss is chief economist at Standard & Poorâ€™s. Wyss joined Data Resources in 1979 as an economist in London at European Economic Service, which was acquired by McGraw-Hill. He returned to the U.S. in 1983 as chief financial economist for DRI/McGraw-Hill, became chief economist for Standard & Poorâ€™s DRI in 1992, and was named chief economist for Standard & Poorâ€™s in 1999. Before DRI, Wyss was a senior staff economist with the Presidentâ€™s Council of Economic Advisers, senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board, and economic adviser to the Bank of England. Wyss holds a bachelorâ€™s degree from MIT and a PhD from Harvard.
