D'Antonian Humility Is in Order

“This is hard to predict,” D’Antoni said. “It’s like winning the lottery. You buy a ticket, you hope, but there’s no guarantee it’s going to happen.” Houston Chronicle, 16 February 2012.

“This is serious. It should be,” D’Antoni said after the team lost to the Philadelphia on Sunday. “I just think there’s too many lapses and our defense has been slipping.” The Christian Post, 12 March 2012.

Circle “hope,” always. And, Spain’s “defense” is slipping, too.

I am last-in-line for basketball knowledge. Mr. D’Antoni is out as the coach of the New York Lins. It has been a collapse of “Jack, Jack!” Titanic proportions.

Europe is no different. There are rhetorical ups and very real downs. There are Knicksian lessons to be learned for Keynesian Europe.

Lesson #1. D’Antonian humility is in order. Discuss.
