Readers Report
NISSAN: MADE IN THE U.S.A. Regarding the letter "Nissan vs. Ford: Comparing values" (Readers Report, Nov. 30), Kenneth M. Tkatch states that "sales of the Altima are currently running below company expectations." In fact, Nissan's new Altima is exceeding all company expectations, and in November, the vehicle set an all-time Nissan sales record for midsize sedans. The Nissan dealer body and the many new owners of Altima are extremely pleased with the value and quality. Tkatch is obviously under the impression that the Altima is made in Japan. In fact, the Altima is built in Smyrna, Tenn., where more than 6,000 Americans make their living building Nissan cars and trucks. Fred H. Miller, President Nissan National Dealer Advisory Board Dealer Principal Miller Nissan Van Nuys, Calif. |
