PROVIDENCE, R.I.
U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse is set to meet with Rhode Island business owners in two communities to discuss job creation.
Whitehouse on Wednesday morning will have coffee with business owners at Taso's Restaurant in Johnston to talk jobs. Representatives from Antaya Technologies in Cranston, Alternate Universe Technologies in Providence and Alpha Metal Works in Johnston are expected to join him.
Later in the day, Whitehouse is scheduled to visit John Medeiros Jewelry in East Providence to talk about his plans to help local manufacturers compete in the global economy.
Whitehouse introduced the Job Creation Tax Credit Act in June. The legislation would offer refundable tax credits to businesses that hire unemployed workers.
