The publisher of Reader's Digest said Thursday that it promoted Dan Lagani to president, North America, a new position heading up media and publishing in the U.S. and Canada.
By consolidating its North American businesses under one executive, the Reader's Digest Association Inc. aims to simplify its structure, accelerate its growth, unlock its brand potential and attract new partners, said RDA President and CEO Tom Williams.
Lagani most recently held the titles of executive vice president of RDA and president of Reader's Digest Community.
The circulation of Reader's Digest has declined because of competition from the Internet, but it is still one of the world's most-read magazines. The Reader's Digest Association sought bankruptcy protection in 2009 and emerged early last year after shedding some debt.
