Dow Corning Corp. said Tuesday it has named president Robert D. Hansen its new CEO, replacing Stephanie A. Burns.
Hansen, 50, has been with Dow Corning for 29 years. He's been president since November of last year.
Burns, who has been with the company for 28 years, will remain chairman.
She has been a member of Dow Corning's board since 2001 and became president in 2003 and CEO in January 2004. She was elected chairman in January 2006.
Dow Corning is a joint venture of Dow Chemical Co. and Corning Inc. that makes adhesives, emulsions, silicone and other chemicals for the automotive, cosmetics and other industries. It's based in Midland, Mich.
