An Associated Press analysis of regulatory documents shows Amazon.com Inc. CEO Jeff Bezos received $1.7 million in compensation last year, a dip of 6 percent from 2009.
Papers the company filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission shows the 47-year-old Bezos received a salary of $81,840, the same as he received in 2009.
His other compensation, worth $1.6 million, covered security and business travel. He did not take home a bonus, incentive or stock or stock options.
The online retailer said, as in the past, that its executives' base salaries are intentionally "significantly less than those paid by similarly situated companies."
The AP's calculation counts salary, bonuses, perks, stock and options awarded to the executive during the year.
